** NOTE ON CPR GUIDELINES **

Current CPR guidelines from the American Red Cross (ARC) and American Heart Association (AHA) may not agree with what is found in the current editions of the BSA First Aid Merit Badge pamphlet.   The AHA and ARC guidelines were updated in November / December 2005 based on new research; updates to the BSA pamphlets may trail these advances by several years.   In the interest of fairness, EITHER SET OF CPR CHEST COMPRESSIONS / RESCUE BREATHS GUIDELINES WILL BE ACCEPTED!   That is, either the guidelines found in the First Aid MB pamphlet (15/2) or those currently adopted by the ARC / AHA organizations (30/2) will be accepted by the judges at the First Aid Meet.
